Your First Visit to Our Edgewood Practice

You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!

Your first visit at our office is quite special, it is our new patient consultation and examination. It will last from 45 minutes to an hour if needed. We are here to listen! If you are ready, please tell us everything we need to know not only about your health condition, but your lifestyle and habits, so we can know as much about you as possible. Your consultation in entirely confidential, so just let us know how we can serve you and help you reach your health goals. Afterwards we will examine you very thoroughly.

We will perform functional tests of your muscles and spine as well as  postural analysis, necessary orthopedic, neurological and chiropractic tests to determine the cause, and extent of your problem or condition. If necessary we will perform X-rays.

Bring any medical notes, results or x-rays you may have in your possession. Allow enough time as we will need the full hour to examine you, and if you intend to bring small children, please let us know in advance.

You will need to undress, and know that a gown will be given, and a chaperone is available if you feel the need, you can also always bring a friend or partner to your appointment. Please either bring a swim suit, some short and a sports bra, or something you will feel comfortable with.

Dr. Acosta Asks some important questions of interest to Edgewood residents - Chiropractor Edgewood Dr. Acosta Asks...

Will chiropractic adjustments make my spine too loose?
No. Only the spinal joints that are fixated and "locked up" receive attention. The occasional spinal joint that moves too much is passed over so weakened muscles and ligaments can strengthen and heal.
How does headache medication find the headache?
It can't! Chiropractors know that when you ingest a drug and it enters your bloodstream it numbs or deadens your entire body. Chiropractic adjustments, on the other hand, are specific, targeted and delivered with precision.
